North Core Studios:

This development is one of the greatest success stories of ENYUYC. It involved new construction of 56 units, Single Room Occupancy (SRO) studios. This is a supportive housing residence for homeless single adults with histories of substance abuse or mental illness. Development and services was funded through the NYC Department of Homeless Services, NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development, Low Income Housing Tax Credits (NYEF’97) and HUD. Features include an on site community room, computer center, laundry and a beautiful landscaped yard brings back to life the surrounding mixed residential industrial area.

Williams Associates, L.P:

Through the Neighborhood Redevelopment Program (NRP) ENYUYC saved 140 units of housing that were in a state of abandonment, by rehabilitating these units for the existing residents and new low-income families. Most of the housing rehabilitation consisted of two and three bedroom units. This project brought back confidence to the residents of Williams Avenue by removing blight and red district street business in the block. This project was possible through the New York City NRP program (HPD Article VII, HOME CDBG) and Low Income Housing Tax Credits (NYEF’95).

Marjorie Richardson Court:

Under the auspices of Supportive Housing for the elderly program, this four-story construction project building, primarily on a city-owned site, consists of 54 units, which includes studios and one-bedroom apartments. The construction of this project enhanced the sides of Hendrix Street and Pitkin Avenue with its modern architecture and courtyards. Funded through the Federal Section 202 Direct Loan Program.

Elton Court:

This project consists of 16 new townhouses creating 40 units of affordable housing for low-income families. Located on two lots on Elton Street adjacent from each other. The site includes rear parking, a garden and playground designed and developed by residents. Elton Court has gained the confidence of surrounding community by meeting the challenge of creating a positive image, in an area previously devastated by blight. Funded through HOME, NYEF’95, and ENYUYC loan.

Fountain Associates:

This project involved the gut rehabilitation of 67 residential units for families funded through the Neighborhood Redevelopment Program (NRP). It created decent affordable housing for low-income individuals and families. Funding assistance also came from New York Equity Fund (NYEF), Local Initiatives Support Corps (LISC) Predevelopment loan program.

Pitkin Associates, L.P:

Rehabilitation of 4 buildings representing 26 units of housing saved 1,2 & 3 bedroom residential units. With other ENYUYC’s developments in the area, this project served as a guiding light for the ongoing rehabilitation and new construction along Pitkin Avenue, on the North Core side of East New York, Brooklyn. Constructed under the NYC HPD NRP, NEF’94.

Anthony E. Carter Associates:

This project has brought life back to the street façade of the 3 blocks on New Lots Avenue around Georgia Avenue. The project renovated 13 residential buildings consist of 51 residential units for low-income families. The project was funded with the assistance of HPD and NYEF.

518 Penn HDFC:

This rehabilitation project is a joint venture with and funded by HPD consist of 2 buildings in 2 separate areas of East New York representing 38 units of housing saved.

Riverdale Associates, L.P:

This development consisted of the rehabilitation of 12 residential apartment buildings containing 68 residential units. The impact was a removal of blight and the creation of affordable housing. This along with Williams Avenue became the pivot for future residential investment in the area. Funded by NYC-HPDD mortgage, Section 17 rental NYEF’90.

Dawson Associates:

The rehabilitation of 6 residential buildings representing 23 units saved is a joint venture with LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corp). The site also includes a community garden and environmental education center serving day science classes and after school program. This development project is located in New Jersey and Riverdale Avenues.

Lillian Ware Associates:

Located at 611 Pennsylvania Avenue is a rehabilitation of 15 units under the NYSHFA Permanent Housing for Homeless Families Program and funding assistance from LISC.

Housing Works East New York:

We created 32 units of independent living housing for persons with HIV/AIDS that included an access to a co-located Day Treatment Center with 60 service slots for adults. Funded by NYS HHAP, Chase Bank Site developed by ENYUYC, Turn Key project, to be operated by Housing Works Services, Inc.

Granville Payne:

The Granville Payne Project is being developed by ENYUYC in a joint venture with Jackson Development through NYC-HPD. The project entails the construction of seven-story mixed-use building and will provide 103 units of affordable housing and 16,700 square feet of retail spaces over the next year. The Granville Payne Project will create venues of employment for East New York residents as well as bringing into the community the convenience of shopping in a high quality environment.

ENY AAF NR HDFC:

The 439 Montauk Avenue Project is a rehabilitation program. The project is to rehabilitate the 11 units apartment for the residents through Third Party Transfer Program at NYC-HPD. Residents will return to a newly rehabilitated and renovated apartment upon completion of the development.

Saunders Homes:

The Saunders Homes is being developed by ENYUYC in a joint venture with Horsford & Poteat Realty through NYC-HPD’s NEP 203k Program. During the FY year 2006-2007 the development work were in progress. The Saunders Homes Project is a rehabilitation of 23 residential units for homeownership. The project will remove blight from East New York community contributing to the creation of a positive image for the blocks where the buildings are being rehabilitated. It will give the opportunity to at least 10 residents of becoming homeowners of 1-3 family homes, at subsidized prices. The construction begun in July 2006, as of today we are in 80% completion of the project and forecast to be in full completion by November 2007.
