RiverdaleHousing and Economic Development

ENYUYC’s Housing Development ventures are central to our mission since they generate a significant portion of the funds needed for our direct services and programs. Housing development activities have brought in an excess of $60 million of capital investment to the community and profoundly changed the physical landscape of the neighborhood. We have produced over 700 affordable rental apartments through gut-rehabilitation of dilapidated buildings and the creation of several new-construction housing projects.

ENYUYC seeks to meet the needs of the entire community, which includes hard-to-house, and special need populations. Thirty percent of the agency’s existing housing units are rented to homeless families. In addition, we have specialized supportive housing: a Homeless Shelter for families; a Single-Room-Occupancy residence for adults with histories of substance abuse and mental illness and, a Senior Residence.
